A woman made a plea for help when the HOA for the 55+ community in her neighborhood started a concentrated campaign to get her to move out because she was under their preferred age range. They wanted each one of the 155 residents to contribute $1000 towards the legal costs of suing her for where she lived. A refusal to pay would lead to a $100 charge on her HOA bill for the next 10 months.
“Not only do I have to pay my own attorney, but I also have to pay the thousand-dollar assessment,” she complained. “I have to pay both sides.” Whatever added context there may be to this situation, there is no denying that they are going to extreme lengths to reject a single resident.
